For three decades, Tony's has been the place to escape up the mountain for a proper cup and a slice of cake — an award-winning coffee shop known far and wide as a cake lovers' paradise. It was towards the end of 1989 that someone asked me “What are your Dreams” and within two weeks I had resigned my job as an Architect and the fabulous journey of life I am on now, began in earnest. It was the right question at the right time which woke me to pursue those dreams, the same dreams which I continue to follow to this day as they evolve through life’s experiences.
The story of Tony’s Coffee Shop can be seen as a reflection of my journey, with the growth of the coffee shop a mirror to my inner growth. As I worked through the ups and downs I encountered along my way so both the Coffee Shop and I emerged stronger with each experience. It is those challenges which I have explored in my book as they have been pivotal to the success of the Coffee Shop.

The recipe section of the book covers the cakes we have served since the Coffee Shop began in 1994. Our cakes have evolved over time and through circumstance while retaining the quality we have become known for. Each recipe contains all the secondary recipes necessary to complete the cakes to our standard.
